Stable bull fertility protein markers in seminal plasma

چکیده

Bull fertility is an important trait in breeding as the semen of one bull can, potentially, be used to perform thousands inseminations. The high number inseminations needed obtain reliable measures from Non-Return Rates oestrus creates difficulties assessing accurately. Improving molecular knowledge seminal properties may provide ways facilitate selection bulls with good quality. In this study, liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was analyze protein content plasma 20 between 35 and 60%, sampled across three seasons. Overall, 1343 proteins were identified consistent correlation multiple seasons found. From these, nine groups had a significant Pearson (p < 0.1) all 34 similar at least two Among notable showing Osteopontin, lipase (LIPA) N-acetylglucosamine-1phosphotransferase subunit gamma. Three combined linear regression predict (r = 0.81). These sets represent potential markers, which could by industry phenotype fertility. SIGNIFICANCE: ability spermatozoa fertilize oocytes crucial for efficiency. However, reliability field relatively low prediction given conventional methods evaluate sperm quality currently not very accurate. work, we identify repeated samples collected different times year that correlate way. We these individual build signature predictive This study provides overview linked plasma, thereby increasing proteome. Protein signatures latter, potentially related fertility, use bulls.

Seminal plasma proteins and fertility indexes in the bull: The case for osteopontin

The ability to select high fertility sires results in the production of semen samples with optimal quality that will, ultimately improve conception rates. Currently, routine semen analysis based on motility and morphology provide useful, but limited information about fertility indexes in the male. Proven, high-use bulls from artificial insemination centers still show differences in non-return r...

Influence of Bull Seminal Plasma on Post-thaw Ram Semen Parameters and Fertility

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of 20% bull seminal plasma to semen extenders on post-thaw sperm motility, morphology, and fertility. Two Merino rams at 3-5 years of age, 43 ewes, and one Holstein bull were used. Fourteen ejaculates were collected by the use of an artificial vagina, twice a day, at 60 min interval. Six semen ejaculates were extended with Tris-egg...

Seminalplasmin, the major basic protein of bull seminal plasma, is a secretory protein of the seminal vesicles.

From the experimental results of three independent methods: (1) indirect immunofluorescence employing monospecific anti-seminalplasmin-IgGs, (2) cell-free translation of poly(A)+ RNA from seminal vesicle and testicular tissue, as well as (3) Northern analysis of poly(A)+ RNA of the latter tissues with a synthetic seminalplasmin-specific antisense DNA probe, it is concluded that the biosynthesis...
